One summer morning when I was in my Employment Marketing Skills Training class at the Columbia Lighthouse, the instructor, Mrs. Roberts, presented us with a project that seemed like an exercise in futility. She formed a committee with president, secretary, treasurer, security officer, and technology and facilities experts. She quickly read the duties of the positions and asked for volunteers to fill them. I was elected president and I couldn’t see all those qualities that made me a good president and that they were talking about, but I took the challenge. Soon the committee turned into a group warm and friendly that wanted to grow, support others, and inform the community of job seekers of its presence and its openness. This group is called Unlimited Success.
We took a giant step and decided to create an internet space that talked about us, and that would disseminate information and, in turn, inform us too. We are hoping to form a net packed with positive people who could help make the dreams of competitive employment for many others become fantastic realities.
